In May, wine enthusiasts can delight in a plethora of wine events taking place across the state of Oregon! Whether it’s wine nights, festivals, city gatherings, shows, or parties in wine country, there’s something for everyone. In this article, we’ve curated all your diverse options to help you celebrate Oregon wine. From our world-renowned Pinot Noirs to our breakout Chardonnays, this month promises to introduce you to your next favorite bottle. So, without further ado, let’s dive in to the Oregon Wine Month Event List.

P.S. Oregon boasts 908 wineries as of 2024, with two-thirds of them nestled within the Willamette Valley, the closest AVA to Portland. With such a concentration, there’s an abundance of wine events to choose from this month!


Wine Tastings at the PDX Airport

Every Wednesday & Thursday from 11am-2pm you will find us doing wine tastings at one of our airport locations, Capers Market or Capers Cafe. We will be sampling a diffrent Oregon winery each day. We hope to see you there!

McMenimens is Celebrating with discounted Glasses of wine!

We think every month is wine month, but May marks the official celebration of Oregon’s wine community, so we are joining in and featuring an Edgefield wine each week for $8.25 a glass.


Forest Grove Wine Walk (Sat, May 4th)

During our Downtown Forest Grove Wine Walk you get the opportunity to enjoy the local businesses and shops that make up our main street FG! Drinking local means embracing the craftsmanship and dedication of our local winemakers, reducing carbon footprints, and preserving the essence of our terroir.

PDX Urban Wine Experience (Sun, May 5th)

The PDX Urban Winery Association is excited to celebrate Oregon Wine Month with a joint winery event. This year marks the tenth annual PDX Urban Wine Experience. The goal, as always, is to bring the best of every AVA and grape that Oregon has (plus a few of Washington’s) to your fingertips. Join at least 18 local Portland Winemakers pouring 34 wines, showcasing 25 varietals and a charcuterie cone from Charcuterie Me.

Oregon AAPI Food and Wine Fest (May 18th–19th)

Twenty-two AAPI-owned restaurants, wineries, and a mobile dry bar will be participating in the second festival at Stoller Family Estate:

  • Saturday Restaurants: Magna Kubo, Norah, Warsugai, Jeju, Tan Tan, Bamboo Grove
  • Saturday Wineries: Alexana, CHO Wines, Junichi Fujita, Hundred Suns, Kristof Farms
  • Sunday Restaurants: Aji Fish Butchery + Zilla Sake, Hapa Pizza, Kimjongrillin + Fry Baby, Kolectivo, Yaowarat, Xiao Ye
  • Sunday Wineries: Et Filles, Evening Land Vineyards, Landmass, Shiba Wichern, CHO Wines

The Oregon AAPI Food and Wine Fest celebrates the AAPI communities that make the state diverse and delicious. Join and celebrate during AAPI Heritage Month and Oregon Wine Month with various curated bites and wine tastings with additional bottles for sale.


SAUVAGE | An Exploration of Oregon Sauvignon Blanc

In collaboration with twelve other Oregon wineries, Durant Vineyards is hosting Sauvage for the second year. This Sauvignon Blanc-focused event highlights Oregon’s growing reputation as a producer of high-quality Sauvignon Blanc. New this year, the event will include a moderated panel discussion held at the Durant Olive Mill in addition to a progressive Sauvignon Blanc tasting at the Durant Winemaking Facility, a space not generally open to the public.

Big Red Fest (May 18th)

The Willamette Valley is well known for its production of Pinot Noir, but now it’s time to celebrate the OTHER awesome red wines produced here in the Willamette Valley!

Pamplin Family Winery is presenting the 2nd annual BIG RED FEST! Whether it’s Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec or a Petit Verdot, this is a chance for you to enjoy a day of tasting delicious OTHER red wines all in one spot! We plan on showcasing 2 of our big reds!

We will be joined by a number of other wonderful wineries at the Big Red Fest on May 18th, from 12pm-4pm along with the vibes of live music and delicious local food bite. You get to take home your own BIG Riedel wine glass too!

Pink! Rosé Festival (May 19th)

Don’t miss the third annual Pink! Rose Festival! Join us for a fun-filled day of rosé tasting at the Hillsboro Ballpark, home of the Hillsboro Hops! 25 of Tualatin Valley’s celebrated wineries will be pouring their latest (limited!) rosé releases.

With sweeping views of the infield, wood-fired pizza, street tacos, winemakers, music and more, the Pink! Rosé Festival is the perfect way to spend a spring day discovering your new favorite rosé.

Celebrate Oregon Wine Month Tasting (May 23rd)

What better way to kick off the season than with the sophisticated, sippable and summer-friendly wines of the Willamette Valley in Oregon.  Famous for Pinot Noir wines, we will explore the reasons why the Willamette Valley winemakers have focused on this elegant grape variety. 

There’s much more to discover as we will sample some fantastic white wines like Pinot Gris, not oaky Chardonnay and white Pinot Noir (what?!?).  Join wine instructor and Oregon wine enthusiast, Erika Frey, for a journey into Oregon Pinot and beyond.
